Saints hire former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff as consultant
The Saints are adding a former rival to their front office. The team has hired former Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff as a consultant after he spent time observing their camp this offseason.
The Saints did the same thing with former Raiders GM Dave Ziegler last year, too, before he landed a full-time gig with the Titans. And they also brought back former GM Randy Mueller in a supporting front office role in 2024 as this follows a pattern of GM Mickey Loomis soliciting outside perspectives in a front office that has mostly stayed the same for the past decade.
Dimitroff helped build the Falcons team that went to the Super Bowl in 2016 under coach Dan Quinn and quarterback Matt Ryan, and he was named Executive of the Year by the Sporting News in 2010. But he was fired along with Quinn during the 2020 season. Since then, he helped create a football analytics company called SumerSports.
