Welcome

I hope you enjoy this site. I built every piece of it while Su reinforced the walls on everything else and stopped it from falling apart while I sat with blinders on, slipping between fits of rage and joyous wonder as the things I envisioned finally popped onto the screen. Thankfully she tolerated every rage scream and all the times I asked her to let me show her how I finally got that comment tray to open up just right. Let me tell you, she had the harder job. I know I've been asking the people in my life to tolerate a lot lately, but now it's your turn. You gotta let me get this out there. All of the sudden, as I'm about to hit go, I'm having a bit of a moment when all I ever intended to do was ask for your patience while we get everything just right. I guess it's been longer than usual since I've written something and the words are flowing now. Anyways, I started this site six years ago on a Wordpress template I hacked together in my apartment starting one September afternoon. I'll remember the day for the rest of my life. I knew what I was doing wasn't for me. I had a different calling. The six-figure job covering the best team in the league? It was everything everyone tells you you're supposed to want. It checks the boxes on _their_ scorecard. I knew where it was going. It just wasn't the life I wanted. I bet on joy. My bank had to go to zero, but the alternative was cashing checks and letting my passion go bankrupt. There was no choice. I had a vision. No way to get there, but luckily you guys had the map ready for me once I had the courage to step out. The path has gotten twisted at times. Not every decision has hit. We’ve tried to go big. We’ve tried to go small. We bought a van. What I've learned is that every time I've tried to do something just to get bigger or make more money, we get further away from joy. The other thing I've learned is that everything is supposed to have a feeling. Sometimes you don’t know if those feelings are real, but I think when you chase them you usually have the clarity needed to succeed. We eventually left that creaky little site I built and joined up with some web developers, who, honestly, probably saved us. I'm not sure I could have kept that little site going or this business going if they weren't so immediately willing to help us keep up with our growth. Amazing people who do amazing work. They propelled us to new places, they dealt with me on the bad day and never heard thank you on the 364 when things worked perfectly. I'll forever appreciate them. But old moments lead to new ones. We go new places, try different things. I wasn't trying to leave something more so than I just started doing something, and it’s like they always say … building cap calculators is a slippery slope. Or wait ... do they call it the gateway build? Either way, I've never been more excited about the future of NOF than I am right now. Our possibilities are endless and my vision has never been more clear. Helps the team is fun, too. So, back to the point ... I'm sure there will be bugs all over. Spelling mistakes. Typos and errors. We tried to find them all, but they sometimes hide in plain sight. And the scope of this thing is pretty massive. I came up with a new draft trade chart at some point. By the way ... I had no idea how difficult it was to code a stats database. There's a lot of ways to make a mistake. What I'm saying is, I need your help. Don't be shy. Do be nitpicky. Leave any bugs you find here. It's not being insulting. Taking the time to say something is showing love. This is only Phase 1. We live in amazing times, and with the current tools in the world, imagination will be our only limiter moving forward. Share your ideas. Your thoughts. Your feedback. There's so much more I want to do. Thanks for checking the site out.
