We didn’t see DE Chase Young did not practice after he suffered a calf injury during Wednesday’s practice. The injury is not considered overly serious per sources, but his status is in doubt for Sunday’s opener against the Cardinals.
Young talked about the injury on Thursday, and while he provided no real details, he responded "hell no" when asked if it was serious.
Guard Trevor Penning (toe) did not practice. S Jordan Howden (oblique) and DT Khristian Boyd (hand) were limited. Practice-squad DB Terrell Burgess (unspecified injury) was not present during the option portion of practice.
The Saints waived practice-squad QB Hunter Dekkers from the practice squad and signed OLB Garrett Nelson to the practice squad. Nelson was recently waived by the Broncos.
