Donovan People-Jones among players trying out at rookie minicamp
Donovan Peoples-Jones is among the players trying out for the Saints this week at rookie minicamp.
The wide receiver is an interesting prospect because he has put together some real production in the NFL. Peoples-Jones caught 61 passes for 839 for the Browns in 2022, but he hasn't really done anything since. He got traded to the Lions in 2023, had a down season, catching five passes for 58 yards over eight games, and didn't make the 53-man roster last year.
The Saints have some depth at receiver, with Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks at the top of the depth chart, but Peoples-Jones would provide a different body type. He's 6-foot-2, 204 pounds, which at least makes him worth a look.
In all, 16 players are trying out for the Saints this week.
