Source: Kendre Miller is ready to begin practicing next week
The Saints are expected to get some good injury news next week.
Running back Kendre Miller is healthy and expected to return to practice on Wednesday, the first day he can return from injured reserve, according to a source.
Miller has been out of action since the first day of training camp with a hamstring injury.
The second-year running back is expected to be a big part of the running game once he gets fully back and settled into the offense. Miller also dealt with injuries throughout his rookie year, but flashed some real potential when he was on the field.
The timing couldn’t be better for the Saints. The team has relied heavily on the running game, and will continue to do so, but Alvin Kamara suffered hip and rib injuries against the Eagles last week. The veteran running back is expected to play through the ailments, but having another back to help carry the load alongside Kamara and Jamaal Williams would benefit the offense.
