It took until about the second quarter of Sunday’s game for the impact of Michael Thomas’ social media post announcing that his season had come to close to hit fully.

We all knew that Thomas’ season was over and that it would be a devastating blow to this team’s season, even if it didn’t change the immediate reality because he hadn’t suited up at any point this season. But while watching the offense struggle to operate competently during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Falcons, Thomas’ post took on a different meaning. It meant that the built-in element of hope that he’d come and save everything no longer existed.
