The New Orleans rookie class has moments where you see the potential.
Cesar Ruiz will clear the way on an inside zone run, and you start to envision a future where he's anchoring the interior offensive line, or Adam Trautman will get open on a double move and score a touchdown, showing how athletic he can be.
But the moments are spaced apart, part of a larger picture that has not yet come into focus. This draft class deserves patience, especially with how this offseason played out, especially when they're on a roster talented enough to where mistakes and growth don't have to occur in public. Still, sometimes it's hard to keep sight of the three-year plan.
