Draft simulation: Exploring which cornerbacks the Saints can get in each round

The Saints have a handful of holes on their roster.

Most of them are not urgent and can get plugged with depth players and midround draft picks.

The hole at cornerback is urgent. After releasing Janoris Jenkins earlier this offseason, the team created a significant hole that has not yet been plugged. There are internal options like Keith Washington and Grant Haley, but neither of those players are proven, which makes Patrick Robinson the top option.

Work needs to get done. If another free agent is not signed, cornerback will be the team’s top need entering the draft. Which raises the question: Can the Saints find a starter if they have to find one in the draft?

In this week’s draft simulation, I selected a cornerback in every round to see if New Orleans can address this position if it enters the draft backed into a corner.

Here’s what happened.
