The Saints had a linebacker near the top of its wish list heading into last season. The team wanted someone with range and explosiveness to step in next to Demario Davis and bolster a group that already had some solid pieces in the mix. That type of player remained on the list coming out of the offseason, and while the defense was getting by with what it had early this season, Kwon Alexander’s arrival showed what was missing. Alexander, who was acquired in a trade with the 49ers and made his debut in Week 10 against his former team, immediately made an impact. His instincts and range elevated the level of play at that position while also adding a needed edge in the on-field attitude department. But Alexander reportedly suffered an Achilles injury that will end his season, putting the Saints right back where they started. So, where does the team go from here?
